Isotron operates a number of irradiation facilities for simulating space and other radiation environments: - protons to 10 MeV - alpha particles (helium ions) to 15 MeV - electrons to 20 MeV Radiation testing to determine the lifetime of components and materials is an essential part of any development programme where equipment has to operate in a hostile environment. We can simulate both space and defence radiation environments for short -term exposures and full lifetime testing.
