Since November 2008 RUAG Space GmbH (RSA) is the Austrian branch of the international Space Equipment Supplier RUAG Space, which has been formed by merging the space activities of RUAG Aerospace in Switzerland with Saab Space in Sweden, Austrian Aerospace in Austria and in a later step also Oerlikon Space in Switzerland.
RUAG Space with its headquarter in Zürich, Switzerland, now represents the largest independent Space Equipment Supplier in Europe.
RUAG Space GmbH, with 145 employees the largest space company in Austria, has started its activities in the space market in 1983 and has since then been focusing on developing and manufacturing space products and related ground support equipment in the areas of electronics, mechanics and thermal hardware.
The purpose is to market, develop and manufacture equipment for use in space or defence. The products shall support and strengthen the competitiveness of its users in the international space or defence industry.
RUAG Space is located in Vienna and has a Thermal Hardware production site in Berndorf, 50 km south of Vienna.
