ASC is home to Australia’s largest repository of high-end naval engineering and design skills for submarines and warships.
ASC was the prime contractor for the design, maintenance, upgrade and delivery for the Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) fleet of Collins Class submarines.
In 2003, ASC’s commitment to the Collins Class submarines was extended another 25 years when the company won a $5 billion contract to provide through-life support services for the class, including ongoing design enhancements and maintenance until the end of their operational lives.
In 2005, ASC was selected as the shipbuilder for Australia’s A$6 billion Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Program. This Program will see the most lethal and most complex warships ever built in Australia constructed in ASC’s South Australian shipyard.
