Federal Scientific and Production Center (NPO Mashinostroyenia) is one of the largest and unique rocket-space enterprises of Russia which has implemented more than 50 large-scale projects including three national programmes - arming the Navy with antiship cruise missiles systems, equipping Strategic Missile Forces with international ballistic missiles (ICBM) systems and building space launchers: building military and scientific satellites (`Proton`, `Polyot`), manned (`Salyut-2, -3, -5`) and automatic (`Cosmos-1870`, `Almaz`) orbital stations. Presently, NPO Mashinostroyenia`s main activities are developments of the `Yakhon` antiship missile, the remote sensing system based on small spacecraft `Kondor-E`, `Ruslan-MM` geostationary communication satellite, `Strela` launcher, SS-19 ICBM derivative.
