The strategic goal of the Republic of Croatia in the process of European integration is to establish, as soon as possible, contractual relations with the European Union through the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, by virtue of which Croatia is to become an associated member of the European Union. This will be the most important step towards full membership in the European Union.
