Cooperation is the key to mankind's success in space. Industry, scientists and governments have since long teamed their skills and resources. Also in the Netherlands, industry has always recognised a combined approach being crucial. This is evidenced by the formation in 1989 of the Netherlands Industrial Space Organisation (NISO) as a permanent forum for the country's space industry and a sounding board for the Dutch Space authorities.
At present, NISO interconnects almost all industries active in space, together with institutes supporting research and (pre-) development. The Netherland Space Agency (NIVR) and the Space Research Organisation (SRON) are advisory members. This network guarantees a full awareness of each other's capabilities, thus ensuring that no opportunities are lost.
