Avon Protection completes first training programme with the Saudi National Guard

Avon Protection, a part of Avon Rubber p.l.c., has held its first training programme with Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) personnel. The training, held over a two week period at three locations in Jeddah, Damman and Riyadh, was with their mask of choice, Avon's next generation C50 mask.
The training sessions were designed to provide each individual with the knowledge and expertise to be able to use and maintain their mask correctly, thereby improving the mask's life and performance. The training included proper sizing and fitting of the mask, instructions on its operational use, complete service and maintenance including routine checks, cleaning and storage, the use of accessories and procedures for the removal and fitting of replacement parts.
Steve Windley, Sales Manager for the Middle East, explains: "Here at Avon, we believe that if a mask is to fully protect its wearer every time it is put on, full training must be completed on not just how to wear it properly, but also how to maintain it. By doing this, we are able to increase and improve the thru-life capability of the mask, thereby enhancing its life, protection and performance as well as bringing down the lifetime cost. It also means that there will be fully certified C50 trainers on a local basis on hand that will be able to conduct maintenance checks quickly and efficiently."
