Ternion® Corporation celebrates its 20th anniversary this month as a leading provider of commercial simulation software and services.
Since its foundation in 1989 as a privately held, employee-owned company, Ternion Corporation has offered simulation products and services that are both innovative and cost-effective. Its flagship product, FLAMES®, is a robust off-the-shelf framework that can be tailored to meet almost any simulation requirement and interface with live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) systems. In addition, Ternion offers custom software development and support services based on the FLAMES framework.
“Part of our vision for Ternion was to offer commercial software products that dramatically improve the quality and usability of simulations while at the same time drastically reduce the cost of simulation development and maintenance,” stated Brad Spearing, President. “Thanks to the hard-working people at Ternion, we have made that vision a reality.”
The company’s latest innovation was the release of the FLAMES Enterprise Edition, which includes the free distribution of its Runtime Suite – a revolutionary concept in the commercial simulation industry. The Runtime Suite includes the functionality of nearly all FLAMES runtime products and can be installed on an unlimited number of computers at no cost. These products allow users to create, execute, and visualize scenarios with an easy-to-use, graphical user interface. The Runtime Suite also provides advanced functionality, including advanced correlated terrain, enhanced 3D visualization, checkpoint/restart, DIS, HLA, and more.
FLAMES is used by government and commercial organizations worldwide, including the United States Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, and Army; United Kingdom Ministry of Defence; NATO; Lockheed Martin; Boeing; and BAE Systems to name a few.
About FLAMES
FLAMES is a powerful simulation framework that addresses all aspects of constructive simulation development and use, including customizable scenario creation, execution, visualization, and analysis, as well as interfaces to constructive, virtual, and live systems. FLAMES minimizes the amount of software development needed to get a full-featured, working simulation. At the same time, the open, object-oriented architecture of FLAMES provides the flexibility to modify or enhance simulations as necessary to meet specific requirements.
